I really needed this today and have been bawling since I saw it. It just goes to show that some things are really meant to last forever.

Discouraged
Now that I've had all my classes once, I have realized I stretched myself way too thin. This is probably going to be the hardest, most stressful semester of my life. I already have to drop one class since the others are almost too much to handle by themselves. I have the same teacher for two classes and he is an extremely hard grader and basically told us today we'll all have to work pretty hard if we want even a B out of the class. I'm just so discouraged. I feel like the wind has been blown out of my sails and I'm just sitting here waiting now to see what happens. I'm finding myself counting the days until christmas already. :(

School Starts Tomorrow!
So I was not too sure I was ok with school starting tomorrow until I ran across some of my best guy friends in the UVU bookstore today and was attacked (well, not really) by hugs and big smiles! And THEN when I took my little sister around campus to show her her classrooms, I got excited. By the time I reached the Institute and saw Kerstin's smiling face and Adam in his LDC polo, I got even more excited! This is going to be a good year! I'm so excited for LDC to start up again.
That's not the whole thing, just part of it. The whole thing basically looks like that, though. It's built into a hill, so there's lots of levels, but you can go anywhere on campus and not have to walk outside. It's pretty sweet. Here's a few more pictures of the unique campus!
This is the Hall of Flags. There is a flag for each country who has had students of their go here! This hall actually reminds me of high school. You know what I mean. This is where everyone checks each other out. If you walk down this hall, you're being watched. It's kind of intimidating!
This is the Computer Science building. I think it's a really cool looking building! I only have one class in here, which are the AVC Lectures on the 4th level. It's my least favorite class, which is sad... since I love this building!
So this is where I live. Not literally, but you know what I mean. This is the Orem Institute of Religion. Not the black thing with the windows. The building on the far right. LDC meets in there and I've spent many a late night/early morning there getting ready for performances and such. It's a very fun place to be!
Sadly, the art building is the ugliest building at UVU, so there's no cool pictures. It's just a building. I live there too. This year I'm taking Advanced Layout, Interactive Design 2, and History of Baroque Art and Architecture. It should be fun! I'm also taking senior studio (an independent senior project) and an internship. It'll be a busy year, but I bet I'll have fun!
LDC auditions are September 3rd and 4th! Then class starts the 8th! I'm excited!
For those of you who have not had the privilege of seeing UVU, here it is! I always thought it was kind of a boring campus, but I think it's awesome compared to the other choices. I love the simplicity of the design. I enjoy it and feel right at home!

Crazy
"Heres to the crazy ones....
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."

60% Dark Chocolate = Love
Can I just say that these little babies are the best things ever?
I'm not even kidding.
Plus, they have no added sugar and are filled with healthy things (meaning no artificial sweeteners, which are SO unhealthy.)
I don't even feel guilty for eating these every now and again since reading an article about how eating A Dark Chocolate a Day Keeps the Doctor Away. Don't believe me? Go read it! I'll be eating my truffle while you do, thank you. ;)
(For those interested, you can buy these anywhere chocolate is sold in a little black bag with a plastic window for easy viewing. They are called Lindt Lindor 60% Extra Dark Truffles. I believe they were made to remind all of us how amazing Swiss chocolate is. Mmmmm.)
Buying Back Old Memories
So, when I was younger they used to show GOOD shows on TV. Really cute little, simple shows with characters you wanted to cuddle up with and be best buds with! It was none of the Blues Clues or Rollie Pollie Ollie stuff. When I was little, we had Mirthworms! I loved the Mirthworms.
I ran across the Mirthworms at Christmastime when ABC was running this Christmas marathon of adorable Christmas shows for kids! A Merry Mirthworm Christmas was on and I fell in love. I remembered it a few days ago and wanted to buy it. Sadly, it was out of print, but I found a used copy on Amazon Marketplace! Along with finding a Merry Mirthworm Christmas, I found out that the Mirthworms had 2 other movies! So I bought both of those also. :) I love Amazon for having that section of their site. Two of the movies arrived yesterday and I plan to watch them both tonight!
(Aren't these little guys adorable? According to the box, Mirthworms are "cuddly little critters about two inches tall who live in the tiny town of Wormingham." Who wouldn't love them?)
Oh, to be a kid again. At least I have Amazon to keep my old memories in stock... what is it with the things of my childhood already being out of print? I'm not THAT old!

Best Olympic Moment Ever!
I think this picture says it all! After Michael Phelps heard that a dude from the French relay swim team said that the French planned to "Smash the Americans" he had a new motivation to win the relay. In what looked to be a lost cause to the French, Jason Lezak snuck up behind and won the gold for the Americans by 8/100ths of a second! The reaction was priceless. Simply priceless. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I watch the Olympics.
Congratulations Brandon and Shelby Osmond!
So... Brandon and Shelby got married on Wednesday and their reception was tonight. The whole setting was gorgeous, even though the torrential downpour at the beginning left all of us soaking wet and ducking for cover. Shelby's dress was gorgeous and she looked like an angel. Brandon was handsome as ever and they both looked so incredibly happy. I love those two!
I gave into the weakness I have for chocolate-covered strawberries. I'm a bad person... :(
LDC sang two numbers for them, Gentle Voice and When Love Came Down. It was so amazing. I laughed at Donny who was running around getting the whole thing on video and the photographer who was shooting pictures at 40 beats a minute! :P
Apparently the Osmonds can get away with doing illegal fireworks! They set them off right over us, which was tons of fun.
We got to see Brandon and Shelby dance, along with their parents. That was darling.
We created a tunnel of sparklers for Brandon and Shelby to run through on their way to their car. That was very cool, but did result in a lot of coughing.
Then, Donny was thrown in the pool while wearing his tux! It was quite funny. He proceeded to get out and throw his son's girlfriend in as well. She was such a good sport, climbing out in her black cocktail dress and high heels. I'm not sure I would have been as pleasant. Haha.
They leave for Maui on Monday and will be there for 2 weeks! I'm so jealous!
It was a lovely evening and I wish the two of them the very best. You can tell from how they act towards one another and the Spirit their love emits, that they truly are a match made in Heaven!

Dumb boys, delayed books, broken bones?, and wedding bells!
What a weekend I had!
On Saturday I woke up early to go and paint the shed in the back. I kid you not, this shed seems to keep expanding! I've used almost 3 gallons and it's not done yet! I'm getting so sick of it. lol
After it got too hot to work, I went inside just in time to get a phone call from a guy who wanted to take me miniature golfing. I didn't know him very well, so I did not know what to expect. The activities were fun and if I had been with a guy more right for me, I would have had an absolute blast. The guy was so inconsiderate! I was winning and it bothered him so much that I finally had to quit winning so he'd quit pouting. All he did was talk about himself, and not in a good way. It was like he was trying to sell himself on e-bay. He never asked me anything and when I volunteered information he'd make himself sound better. The whole event just bugged me.
THEN, that night... He informed me that my make-up made me look fake. Who does that? It hurt my feelings. At this point, I was ready to give up on him and tell him I was not interested. However, we had a date scheduled for Sunday night already (mini golfing was spontaneous. The original plan had been only Sunday night.) We were going to go for a walk in the park. I spent all Sunday feeling like I should cancel, but I did not want to hurt his feelings. About an hour before we were supposed to go, he texted me and canceled! He could have at least called me. I thought it was rude to break a date through a text. Oh well. I'm not heartbroken. I politely told him this evening that I'm not interested in pursuing anything.
Anyway, there's my weekend drama! Haha!
Friday night Breaking Dawn was released! Sadly, I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon and am having to wait a LOOONG time to read it. It's still, to this very hour, sitting in a warehouse in Denver waiting to be shipped. I know someone else who pre-ordered one from Amazon and got it on Saturday. Why is mine in DENVER? My mother and I have sent an e-mail to Amazon to complain. There's millions of copies of this book all over Utah Valley and mine has been sitting in a warehouse for 4 days for no apparent reason. BLAH. Almost all of my friends have finished it and I have not even touched it yet! I want to read it! This is driving me crazy! I've heard it's amazing from some and disappointing for others. I hope I love it. I'll miss Bella and Edward.
Saturday evening was Daniel Mason's goodbye party! We had a lot of fun with that. We ate and chatted before playing games. As it got later, things got funnier. We played the What If? game, which I love. I wish I had written down some of the answers we came up with! Some were just priceless! Then we played "Snort" and hardly any of us could contain the laughter that came with that one. Then we watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." It was so funny! I came home to buy it online and found out they no longer make it! Luckily I found a brand new one on ebay and won the auction! I love ebay. I feel like a winner so often because of them!
Sunday was crazy! Our Primary had about 12 visitors. Since we only have around 25 active kids, this was a huge increase. Anyway, one visitor was a little guy who was Sunbeam age. He was very unsure about attending Primary, though. His cousin was visiting my class (CTR 7), so I invited him to sit with his cousin during sharing time. I thought he might decide to go with the Sunbeams for class, but no, he wanted to stay with his cousin. So, we had seven 7-year-olds and one 3-year-old today. He kept trying to choke his cousin, and every time I asked him to stop, he'd yell "Be quiet!". My mom (who I team teach with) finally asked him if he'd like to sit under the table, because we cover it with a table cloth so it's kind of like a tent under there. At first he said no, but when I offered him crayons and pictures to color, he decided to sit there. Thank goodness, because it was so hard to teach the lesson with him constantly choking his cousin and yelling at us! It was crazy!
After church, my family and I watched the Pelican Brief. In the movie, two Supreme Court Justices are assassinated. One lone law student (Julia Roberts) writes a theory on who was behind it. She shows the theroy to a friend, who shows it to a friend, who shows it to the FBI, and evntually the President gets it. Every person who was shown her brief ends up killed. She stumbles across an Investigative journalist (Denzel Washington) who wants her story and helps her solve this problem as they protect each other from being killed. I really liked it! It took a while for me to get into it, but it grabbed me and pulled me in. It was an older movie, too, so seeing the silly old school computers they used was very entertaining. I love conspiracy theories too. I'd recommend it!
Today I went to the doctor about the problem with my foot I've been having. Because of all of this shed painting I've been doing, I have been climbing and hanging out on many ladders. Apparently that was not good for my feet. I've been having pretty bad pain in my right foot for about 2 weeks now. I've had it bandaged for a while in the hopes it would get better. We initially suspected a stress fracture, but after x-rays I have no broken bones. My doctor has referred my to a physical therapist because he does not think this will heal on its own. I have an appointment tomorrow.
Shelby's bridal shower was so much fun! Shelby is so adorable and we got to hear all about her and Brandon. She told us about their first date, the first time "I love you's" were exchanged, and the proposal. You can tell she really loves him! We heard all about the wedding plans, reception plans, and honeymoon plans. I'm so excited for her!
